Built and powered for comfort, safety and stability, she is diesel-powered, cruises at 12 knots and has 110-volt power onboard.  She features a roomy, air conditioned Salon and Dining area, Sun Deck complete with a jacuzzi, lounge and deck chairs, stereo and CD player, shaded Wet Bar and Grill, a complete photo center with a digital video and still photo editing computer.

OUR CABINS

Accommodation includes 5 Deluxe cabins with a Double and Single berth and 1 Quad cabin with two sets of Twin bunks. All Staterooms have climate controls. The Bahamas Aggressor sleeps 14 guests in privacy and comfort. All Staterooms are equipped with standard US electrical outlets and USB ports for charging electrical devices.

FOOD ON BOARD

The menu onboard is varied and plentiful, with a variety of American feasts, Barbecues and Local Cuisine. You will awaken to fresh fruit, hot entrees, cereals and juices. Lunches are buffet-style, featuring hot soups, homemade breads, salads and sandwiches and/or entrees. Dinners are Chef prepared and served each evening and include salads, vegetables, seafood, beef or chicken with a fresh homemade dessert.

If you have any special dietary requirements, please be sure these are noted when completing the GIS. Once onboard, please speak to the Chef about any special needs. Certain special dietary and beverage requests may not be available due to the remote nature of this location.

The Aggressor’s selection includes fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water, iced tea, coffee, and a limited selection of local beer and wine, which are complimentary. Due to the high duty charged on liquor, we suggest you bring your special brand from the U.S. Drinking and diving do not mix. Once you consume alcohol, you become a snorkeler until the next day.

AMENITIES

A complete Photographic facility is provided including a PC for downloading photos. Photographic equipment is also available to rent and a dedicated Professional Photographer gives tips on underwater photography. There are also plentiful opportunities to go ashore for taking advantage of the pristine beaches. Snorkeling equipment will be provided on these beach excursions. There is much to keep you entertained during non-diving hours, a spacious lounge which boasts a TV, movies, games, camera center and fish identification books. A relaxing sun deck sports, a jacuzzi, wet bar and sun loungers for unwinding on your liveaboard tropical vacation.

There is a variety of nightly entertainment, including diving, fish identification presentations, movies, games and more. If you have a favourite movie, digital presentation or a video to share, we encourage you to bring it along. The crew especially loves new releases of movies, music, recent magazines and books. A small library of books for exchange is maintained onboard as well as fish identification books for reference.

DIVING WITH US

The spacious and luxurious Bahamas Aggressor liveaboard will transport you in style to the world’s most abundant marine parks. The Exuma Cays and Southwest Eleuthera, a group of 350 Cays that play host to all manner of sea life, is a favourite among Divers in the Bahamas.

WHAT TO BRING?

Please plan to travel light, as on all live-aboard dive yachts, space is limited. We recommend that you pack your gear in soft luggage such as a duffel bag for easy stowage and to add to your comfort in your cabin. Clothing should be lightweight, comfortable sportswear; sunscreen and swimsuits are a must. A light sweater or jacket is ideal for evenings. Dress is always casual and informal. Additional items you may want to bring are sunglasses and walking shoes for you time on shore.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Approx. 24 – 28dives
  • Level required: Open Water
  • 20+ dives recommended
  • The Tiger Beach itinerary is an exploration of the remote areas around the West End of Grand Bahama Island, an area rarely visited by tourists
  • Premier dive destinations in the world among professional photographers, videographers and shark lovers alike
  • This shallow sand flat is the most reliably consistent spot in the Bahamas for shark encounters.
  • Tiger Beach in the Bahamas is one of the best places in the world to get up-close and personal with Tiger sharks.
  • The shallow waters allow for great photo opportunity of Caribbean Reef sharks, Lemon Sharks, Hammerheads, Bull sharks, Oceanic whitetips and, of course, the Tiger sharks for which the dive site is named. Divers often encounter dolphins as well.
  • Extra weight is often recommended on this dive to help divers anchor to the sandy bottom without churning it up and obstructing view or rousing the sharks.
  • Sharks are not an immediate threat to humans, however they deserve a high level of respect and inexperienced divers may or may not be ready for the rush that comes with so many circling sharks.

PROGRAM

DAY 1

  • Safety Briefing, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour.
  • During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable.
  • Please Note: This is a sample itinerary and nº of dives, dive sites, etc. may be subject to change due to weather conditions and other unforseeable factors

DAY 2 - 6

  • The West End area is rarely visited by guests, it is known for its clear calm waters and is home to many creatures – both large (sharks and dolphins) and small (grouper, snapper, assorted other reef fish).
  • Thanks to the foresight of the Bahamas, making all waters surrounding the nations islands a marine sanctuary, we are able to enjoy the benefits of a healthy marine ecosystem.
  • At least one afternoon during the trip will be dedicated to a dive at the area know as "Tiger Beach" where we will try to attract sharks using a "scent triangle" filled with bait. Both Caribbean Reef sharks, Lemon Sharks and Tiger sharks are known to frequent the area.
  • The reefs near tiger beach have a vast array of marine life, hard corals and soft corals.
  • The sandy arena of the dive site is usually free from current and blessed with crystalline visibility
  • You are most likely going to see Caribbean Reef sharks, Lemon Sharks and Tiger Sharks, dolphins, groupers, snappers and other reef fish.
  • When the tigers, growing to over 16 feet, will be around, you find yourself ignoring all the other sharks in the area and focusing on only the large, striped shark who seems to be more curious and cautious than you were expecting.
  • If you are lucky you can spot the lemon sharks that stop, lay on the bottom and open the mouths while small wrasse clean the sharks’ mouth and gills.
  • Please note: All shark interactions are natural, passive and observational in style. The Aggressor Fleet does not actively feed sharks nor chum the waters.
